Rights Respecting Reps

At Colinton Primary we have recently achieved our Bronze Rights Respecting School Award and are now working towards Silver. Our RRSA pupil group includes children from P1 to P7 who meet regularly with Mrs Hill to help take forward actions from our Silver plan.

Our school is a Community of Global Citizens where children learn about the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Global Goals, using them to guide everyday life. Learning for Sustainability and the Global Goals are woven through our wider curriculum, helping pupils understand their role as global citizens and linking rights to real‑world issues such as equality, wellbeing and sustainability. Pupils help create class and playground charters and take part in assemblies that highlight Rights and Global Learning.

Every child has a voice. Class representatives and P6 Rights Ambassadors lead projects, support younger pupils and share ideas through their pupil groups and suggestion boxes. Respectful relationships shape our whole school ethos, and families stay involved through newsletters, school events and celebrations of pupil‑led work.
