School Lunches & Milk

School lunches are available every school day with the exception of Friday when a packed lunch can be provided

Primary 1 to 3 Lunches

The Scottish Government agreed that all Primary 1 to 3 children would be offered free school lunches from January 2015. Parents & Carers should order these using the online ParentPay service.

Primary 4 to 7 Lunches

Parents & Carers should order school meals through the online ParentPay service. Children who qualify for assistance in paying for school lunches should also make their choices using ParentPay.

Details on criteria and how to apply for a grant are available from the Council Website.

Lunch menus are publish on the City Of Edinburgh Web Site. Colinton Primary’s lunches are provided by Edinburgh Catering Services.

Children who stay in school for lunch are not permitted to leave school during the lunch break.

Children who go home for lunch must be signed back into school on their return. A sign–out sheet is situated inside the Administrator’s office.

Packed Lunches

We encourage healthy pack lunch choices as part of our health promotion. Please support this by ensuring that your child does not bring sweets, fizzy drinks or other unhealthy snacks.

A couple of points to note about Packed Lunches

  • We ask that children do not bring any food containing nuts to school. This is due to nut allergies within the school.
  • Please ensure that your child’s lunch box is clearly labelled with their name and class. (many children have Ben 10, Frozen or Peppa Pig)

Milk for School Pupils

You can purchase milk for your child to have during snack time. This should be paid for each Term via ParentPay .  We notify you before the end of the current term as a reminder, that the next ‘charge’ is due. This details the charge.
