Well done to Edward in The Penguins, our latest winner of the Colinton Cup. Edward has been praised many times for his outstanding manners, his hard work and his overall attitude at school. He is a thoroughly deserving winner of this award.
The final week of term has been another busy one. Monday was another of our fundraising Bingo Nights, with our congratulations going to Mr Raw, who won the top prize of £50. Everyone who was there reported that they thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
On Tuesday the Zebras went to Meggetland in the glorious sunshine to enjoy the Boroughmuir Cricket Festival. The class demonstrated great skill during the activities and were presented with a real cricket bat to bring back to school for all their efforts.
On Wednesday the Zebras went to the Risk Factory, a facility for all young people to apply all the personal safety skills they have learned throughout school in a controlled environment. It is a great learning tool and one that everyone in the class thoroughly enjoyed.
Also on Wednesday the school were represented at the Edinburgh Schools Swimming Gala by Carra, Kyle, Cameron (The Zebras), Iona, Jodie, Oliver, Ethan and Kyle (The Giraffes). Their attitude throughout the day was outstanding and matched by their swimming. Our breaststroke team came home with a trophy for their efforts, winning the Runners Up Final in a time of 2m 26s. Well done to you all, you were a credit to the school.
Today the Otters are out at the Water of Leith centre. This is a rearranged trip from last week. The weather is perfect for them today and we look forward to hearing about how they got on. The rest of the school have also been involved in our annual litter picking initiative today. The local environment should be looking much neater as a result.
Finally, we hope you all enjoy a restful Easter holiday and we look forward to seeing you back here on Tuesday 17 April.
