Today two of our classes, the Zebras and the Giraffes, joined other members of the Colinton community at the Armistice Day service in Redford Barracks. Leon and Jona did a fine job in representing the school when it came to their turn to lay a memorial wreath. Our poppy appeal has gone well this week and we hope to be able to give you a final figure for the total raised once all the donations are counted. Thank you to everyone who made a contribution.
The winners of our house activity to design a Christmas card were announced at singalong yesterday. Our congratulations go to Jayden (P2), Tahnee (P5/6) and Rosa (P6/7) from Torduff; Joseva (P1 Penguins), Amani (P4/5) and Kevin (P5/6) from Threipmuir; Laura (P1 Penguins), Corey (P3) and Leanne (P5/6) from Harlaw; Danicka (P1 Penguins), Niamh (P5/6) and Courtney (P6/7) from Bavelaw. All parents should now have received their sample card and letter detailing how to make an order. Remember that every order will result in a contribution of £1.25 to the school fund. A link for the project website has been added on the right hand side of our homepage here.
We also handed out six swimming certificates to the P5 boys of the Lions class. We were particularly pleased at the commendation these boys got from the swimming teacher for their outstanding behaviour, attitude and manners. Well done to them all.
We are also pleased to announce the return of Colinton’s football and netball clubs, both of which will begin next week. Copies of the netball letters have been given out to all pupils who expressed an interest, while copies of the football club letter have been sent out by parentmail. A copy of both letters have also been added to the “Letters From The Office” section of the website. Please return your confirmation slips as soon as possible if you have a child interested in participating.
Finally, we have updated the Golden Book for this week. Well done to everyone who has been mentioned. We hope you have a great weekend.
